22nd Polonaise for Fredro
The 22nd edition of Polonaise for Fredro will be held on the 31st of January, Tuesday, in the city square. As per every year tradition, the University of Wrocław will participate in the Polonaise for Fredro. We would like to invite all high school graduates, who consider enrolling in studies at our University – it is said that a lap around the city hall in a dancing parade is a guarantee of the passed Matura exam.
Polonaise for Fredro is an initiative organised by the Wrocław branch of the Gazeta Wyborcza. This year, the parade will be led by the Mayor of Wrocław, Jacek Sutryk, and in addition to this year’s high school graduates, the rectors of Wrocław universities will also dance. Vice-Rector professor Patrycja Matusz will be the representative of the University of Wrocław.
The event will be hosted by a Wrocław journalist Paweł Gołębski.
– We encourage you to take part in our dance. Firstly, it is great fun. Secondly, the atmosphere of this event is always so unique. Circling around the city square with a dance step puts almost everyone in a solemn, aware-of-incoming-Matura type of mood. You are bound to remember this for the rest of your life. – he told Gazeta Wyborcza.
We encourage you to participate in the Polonaise for Fredro in the city square, and we keep our fingers crossed for all the high school graduates, and of course, we invite you to study at the University of Wrocław, where the application process starts on the 1st of June!
