U.S. will visit the Libraries

North and Central Americas are the destinations of this year’s edition of the Wrocław Travel Festival Olgierd Budrewicz – zero parallel. To these places we will devote: travel seminars, meetings with authors and other festival event, which will take place in the Tourist Library and Multimedia Library in the middle of April.

Sometimes for a change of scenery, even for one as huge as the width of the ocean, a good story is enough. Storytellers and their stories from long journies will be, as every year, the main point of this festival in Wrocław, which is organized for the 11th time by Tadeusz Różewicz Muncipal Public Library in Wrocław. Special guests of the event will be: Adam Kwaśny, traveler and writer, who travels to Cuba for over 15 years now, and Artur Domosławski – one of the most appreciated polish reporters, author of the books Ameryka zbuntowana and Gorączka latynoamerykańska.

North America is not just the U.S., but upcoming meetings will be devoted to them as well. Phenomenom of this country will be introduced to you by Magda Działoszyńska-Kossow, American studies specialist, author of the report San Francisco. Dziki brzeg wolności and Ewa Winnicka, reporter, who has worked on titles such as Nowy Jork zbuntowanyMilionerka and Greenpoint.

We will take a look into Mexico five times, to listen about the local underworld, monumets from Mayan, Zapotec and Aztec cultures, and Mexican Catholicism, we’ll visit Guatemala, Belize, Greendland and Caribbean as well.

As always, the festival includes workshops for the youngest participants, practical advices for the globetrotters, who will get to know how to travel with a dog and prepare for the possible risks while traveling. Those, who are still hungry for stories will be able to continue discussions with invited guests in the festival club of the Spanish Library.
