Matriculations 23/24
Dear first-year students at the University of Wrocław. As you probably already know, we will start the new academic year with the ceremonial Inauguration of the Academic Year 2023/2024, which will take place on 2 October 2023 (Monday) at 1 p.m. in Aula Leopoldina in the main building of the University of Wrocław at Plac Uniwersytecki 1. But, in addition to our inauguration, you can also participate in the Environmental Inauguration of the Academic Year, that is the shared beginning of the academic year for all universities in Wrocław, which will take place on 1 October 2023 (Sunday) at 1 p.m., also in Aula Leopoldina. After the ceremony, the procession of rectors will go to the Market Square of Wrocław, where, together with the combined choirs of the universities of Wrocław, we will sing Gaudeamus Igitur. Both inaugurations are not obligatory, however, we cordially invite you – it is worthwhile to start at least the first year of studies with a bang, and above all, to get to know this academic tradition and feel the atmosphere of the university.
The situation is different when it comes to Matriculations, which are organised by individual faculties of our university. Matriculations are mandatory except at the Faculty of Letters, where those who receive appropriate information will participate in the matriculation. You will receve appropriate invitations from your Faculties via e-mail. It is also worth following the websites of faculties and social media profiles, where detailed information will be available. We have collected for you the dates and places of those events, write them down in your calendars.
