Statement

In response to numerous enquiries addressed to the university authorities in connection with Saturday’s article by Beata Maciejewska in the Wrocław supplement of Gazeta Wyborcza, we would like to inform you that the His Magnificence Rector commissioned a legal analysis of the text, on the basis of which he makes possible legal action against the author of the text and the editor-in-chief of the Wrocław supplement of Gazeta Wyborcza conditional. His Magnificence Rector thanks for the words of support and acknowledges the disapproval of the University of Wrocław community for the journalist’s actions, but believes that any decisions in this matter should be made on the basis of legal regulations and not momentary emotions. At the same time, prof. Robert Olkiewicz would like to convey words of support and deep empathy to prof. Patrycja Matusz, who, in an absolutely undeserved manner, based on the author’s own subjective and completely unfair opinions, was also attacked by her in this article.
