Workshop at the Print Shop
Take a look at a remarkable photo-report from a workshop that took place last Friday at the letterpress print shop at ul. Otwarta 12.
The workshop was organised by the Institute of Information and Media Studies of the UWr and the Print Shop.
Participants had the opportunity to learn the technique of typesetting from traditional metal fonts. They were then able to print their designs on real printing presses under the watchful eye of Mr. Maciej Zarański – one of the last typesetters in Poland using the classic relief printing technique.
It was an unusual adventure and an interesting experience, especially for those interested in editing and publication design.
Translated by Oliwia Chanasińska (student of English Studies at the University of Wrocław) as part of the translation practice.
