Mondays with WUWr #5

There’s a lot going on at the University of Wrocław Press and we want to keep you informed!

With this post, we start #mondayswithWUWr. We will keep you informed about the most important book launches, events and promotions, invite you to publications and describe what’s new! Today is the first Monday summary. For more, visit wuwr.eu!

Author meeting with Justyna Bajda, the author of the book Błękitny fin de siècle

If you are curious what prompted the author of the blue book to tackle this colour (and what will be next?) Why did she refer to Zapolska, Przerwy-Tetmajer and Wyspiański? What made Young Poland blue?

As early as 9 May (Thursday) at 18:00, the Proza Club (Przejście Garncarskie 2) will host an author meeting around the book Błękitny fin de siècle. Professor Justyna Bajda will be interviewed by editor Mariusz Urbanek on the subject of the blues. Details on the event page: https://www.facebook.com/events/3778818149068397/

We encourage you to buy the publication – also during the meeting! By buying directly from the publisher you support the authors.

The book is under the media patronage of Polish Radio Programme 2 and the patronage of Wrocław – UNESCO City of Literature.

Meeting with the editor and authors of ‘Anglica Wratislaviensia’

We would also like to invite you to an online meeting around issue 61.1 of the journal ‘Anglica Wratislaviensia’. The discussion with three scholars of multimodal communication will be moderated by dr hab. Michał Szawerna from the UWr Institute of English Studies. The participants will be dr Hiroki Hanamoto from Japan, dr Kimberley Pager-McClymont from the UK and dr Ilhana Nowak from France.
