Mondays with WUWr #7

There’s a lot going on at the University of Wrocław Press and we want to keep you informed!

Printed publications

The printers cooperating with the Publishing House have their hands full this week. The following books are currently in print and will soon go on sale, and you can browse them at wuwr.eu/publications:

Kody językowo kulturowe w polskiej frazematyce gwarowej written by prof. Włodzimierz Wysoczański from the Institute of Polish Studies,

Książka i biblioteka w wybranych pracach Umberta Eco written by dr Anna Lubińska from the Institute of Institute of Media and Information Studies,

System odpowiedzialności mediów w Polsce na tle systemów w innych krajach written by dr Paweł Urbaniak from the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication.

Magazines with a new layout

There are also two magazines in print with a new layout!

,”Wrocławsko-Lwowskie Zeszyty Prawnicze” (no. 14), which is aimed at promoting the legal culture of Poland and Ukraine and spreading scientific cooperation between two important academic centres – the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław and the Faculty of Law of the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv.

And “Prace Literackie” (no. 62), a journal published by the Institute of Polish Studies at the University of Wrocław. They have been published since December 1956. “Prace Literackie” is a journal with a literary profile, taking into account broad interpretative contexts of Polish and world literature.

Publishing at the Warsaw Book Fair

Last weekend, the Vivelo Book and Media Fair was held in Warsaw at PGE Narodowe, and from 23-26 May, the International Book Fair will be held at the Palace of Culture and Science. The University of Wrocław Press is promoting the book Błękitny fin de siècle written by Justyna Bajda at the fair, which you can buy with a 26% discount until 26 May on the occasion of Mother’s Day!

Wanted

Due to new challenges, the publishing house is looking for a bookseller to join the team to support the online bookstore / direct sales. Responsibilities include efficient customer service – both online and on the phone and on-site at the publisher’s premises (personal pick-ups), handling products and sales via the www.wuwr.eu shop (woocomerce), handling subscriptions and shipping of must-have copies, taking care of the publisher’s warehouse, maintaining the necessary documentation, keeping the necessary financial accounts with the accounting department.
