
Dr Stanisław Rogowski passed away
Dr Stanisław Rogowski, born in Wschowa on 1 May 1946, died on 25 December 2024.
The funeral ceremony will take place on 8 January 2025 at 1.00 p.m. in the chapel at the St Lawrence (św. Wawrzyńca) Parish cemetery at ul. Bujwida.
Dr Stanisław Rogowski is a retired assistant professor of the Institute of the History of State and Law at the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław. He was a respected author of scientific studies and articles on the history of the Polish state and law, constitutional law and insurance.
Dr Stanisław Rogowski was elected to the Sejm of the 10th term on behalf of the Christian Social Union, and then to the Sejm of the 2nd term on the recommendation of the Labour Union. In his parliamentary service, he participated in the work of more than a dozen Sejm committees and subcommittees, including the Constitutional Committee of the National Assembly to prepare the draft Constitution of the Republic of Poland. He served as Chairman of the Regional Council of the Labour Union in Wrocław. After the establishment of the office of the Insurance Ombudsman in 1995, he was appointed to this function. He held the position continuously until 2007. He was also an active member of the Society of Friends of Lviv, engaging in activities to preserve the cultural heritage of the Borderlands. For his scholarly and social activities, he was awarded the Silver Cross of Merit, and the Medal of the 40th Anniversary of the People’s Republic of Poland.
In the deceased we lose a noble man, a scholar and an excellent academic teacher, an educator of numerous generations of young people, always deeply devoted to the matters of the University of Wrocław, the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics and the Institute of the History of State and Law.
