
Prof. Anna Aleksiewicz passed away
With deep sorrow, we inform you that on 24 May 2025, prof. dr hab. Anna Aleksiewicz, a prominent academic of the University of Wrocław, passed away.
Born on 17 July 1936, she was a renowned researcher of 19th-century book history, the author of numerous academic publications, and a respected university teacher for many generations of library scientists.
A retired professor at the University of Wrocław (1967–2004), she was professionally affiliated with the Institute of Library and Information Science, where she steadily climbed the academic ranks. In addition to her teaching duties, she served as the head of the Institute Library, the head of the Department of Library Science, the director of Extramural Studies, and a class year advisor.
We will remembered her as a wonderful and good-hearted person, a prominent scholar, and an esteemed authority for multiple generations of students and researchers.
We extend our deepest condolences to her Family and Loved Ones.
