Lecture by prof. Karol Życzkowski
On Tuesday, 2 December, we invite all physics enthusiasts to attend a lecture by prof. Karol Życzkowski from Jagiellonian University, entitled: „Przeglądając się w zakurzonej szybie… Determinizm w mechanice klasycznej i kwantowej”.
The lecture will begin at 5.30 pm in the Rzewuski Hall, located in the building of the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy of the University of Wrocław (Plac Maxa Borna 9). The event is organised as part of the Edith Stein Seminar “Who Seeks the Truth.”
Professor Karol Życzkowski is one of Poland’s most distinguished theoretical physicists. His research focuses on quantum mechanics and quantum information, chaos theory, and non-linear systems. In 2024, he was awarded the prestigious European Research Council (ERC) grant. He is a member of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the Polish Academy of Arts and Sciences.
In addition to physics, Professor Życzkowski is passionate about ski mountaineering and is a co-author of the specialist guidebook “Narciarstwo wysokogórskie w polskich Wysokich Tatrach”.
