
CINEMA/TEXT 2026 Conference
Institute of Slavic Studies at the Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures of the University of Wrocław invites you to take part in the 3rd edition of the International Student and Doctoral Conference: KINO/TEKST. The event is organized by the “KinoKultura” Student Research Club (Studenckie Koło Naukowe KinoKultura) and will take place on April 16-17, 2026.
The conference aims to encourage young scholars interested in cinematography and film studies to exchange viewpoints and explore the role of cinema in art and culture.
The organizers suggest the following thematic areas:
- Symbolism in Film and Intertextuality
- Film as a Synthesis of the Arts
- Film as a Medium
- Film Criticism
- Film Adaptations of Literary Works
- Linguistic Aspects of Language in Film
- Audiovisual Translation Studies: Subtitling
- Media Accessibility: Audio Description for People with Disabilities
- Film as a Reflection of Identity
- The Impact of Film on Culture: Iconic Quotes and Phrases in Collective Memory/Mentality
- Film and Other Media in Foreign Language Teaching
- Urban Space in Literature and Film
The event organizers encourage students and PhD students to submit applications for 15-minute presentations aligned with the conference’s main theme. Participation in the conference is free of charge.
The conference follows a hybrid model, offering both in-person and online participation.
