Student house fee exemption for ukrainian students

STUDENT HOUSE FEE EXEMPTION

Due to the situation in Ukraine, we want to help students coming from Ukraine who live in student houses. They can apply for a student house fee exemption in March 2022. You can apply for either a full or partial fee exemption.

You can apply for a partial fee exemption if you receive a maintenance grant which is increased due to living in a student house. They can do so if they pay more than:

  • PLN 450 (and the increased social grant amounts to PLN 1,150.00)
  • PLN 650 (and the increased social grant amounts to PLN 1,600.00)

The student house fee will be reduced by PLN 450 (in the first case) or PLN 650 (in the second case).

To receive a fee exemption, you need to fill in an application form (attached) and send it by email to the address of your student house until 20 March 2022.

Details can be found in the Rector’s Ordinance No. 46/2022 of 3 March 2022.

CHANGES TO THE COURSE OF STUDIES

We would like to remind that students who are Ukrainian citizens may apply for changes in the course of their studies. In case of inability to participate in classes, a student may apply to the dean for:

  1. a dean’s leave until the end of the academic year with the possibility of obtaining credit in courses (§37 of the study regulations),
  2. extramural passing of courses (§20 of the Rules and Regulations)
  3. or an individual study arrangement (individual programme §19 of the Rules and Regulations for Studies).

Legal basis: the Resolution of the UWr Senate no. 37/2021

EXEMPTION FROM TUITION FEES

Students who find themselves in an exceptionally difficult financial or life situation may apply for fee exemption for provided educational services connected with:

  1. education on part-time studies and part-time doctoral studies (paid studies);
  2. tuition for degree programmes and doctoral programmes conducted in English (fee-paying programmes);
  3. full-time degree courses (fee-paying studies);
  4. repetition of specific courses in degree and doctoral programmes due to unsatisfactory academic performance.

A request for a full or partial fee exemption must be submitted to the dean’s office. The decision is made by an authorised dean or vice-dean.
