Temporary protection from 24.02.2022

Due to the situation in Ukraine, the citizens of this country who crossed the Ukrainian border on or after 24 February 2022 and obtained the status of temporary protection in Poland on the basis of Article 1, section 1 of the Act of 12 March 2022 on assistance for citizens of Ukraine in connection with armed conflict on the territory of this country (hereinafter referred to as the “specustawa”) (Journal of Laws 2022, item 583 as amended), can count on additional support during their enrolment at the University of Wrocław for the academic year 2022/23.

STUDIES IN THE POLISH LANGUAGE
1) There will be a separate additional limit of places for particular fields of study.

2) Registration will take place using a separate recruitment system. The link to the recruitment system will be made available at a later date.

3) Recruitment will take place according to a separate schedule with the recruitment procedure moved to September.

4) There is a recruitment fee of PLN 85 for each chosen field of study. It will be possible to apply for a refund of the recruitment fee for one chosen field of study by 14 October 2022.

5) Full-time studies in Polish are free of charge during the period of temporary protection (currently until the end of August 2023).

6) If it is not possible to provide documents being the basis for the studies, the admission will be based on a conditional decision on the condition that the missing documents are provided at a later date, specified in the decision. Failure to provide the documents within the specified time limit will result in the loss of student status.

7) During the interview, the Admissions Committee will verify the student’s knowledge of the Polish language at a level sufficient for studies.

List of documents that can be delivered later

  • secondary school graduation certificate or other document entitling to apply for studies with legalisation or bearing apostille (copy with original for inspection) and with translation into Polish made by a sworn translator entered in the register of sworn translators of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland;
  • diploma or other document entitling to apply for admission to university studies with legalisation or bearing an Apostille (copy together with original to be inspected) and with translation into Polish language performed by a sworn translator entered in the register of sworn translators of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Poland
    certificate of at least B1 level of proficiency in Polish, i.e:
  • confirmation of completion of a one-year preparatory course for taking up studies in Polish in units designated by the minister responsible for higher education, or
  • certificate of proficiency in Polish issued by the State Commission for the Certification of Proficiency in Polish as a Foreign Language or
  • a confirmation from the School of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners at the University of Wrocław that the candidate’s preparation and proficiency in Polish allow him/her to undertake studies in Polish.

DETAILED LEGAL ACTS CONCERNING THE ABOVE RECRUITMENT RULES WILL BE ISSUED AT THE END OF MAY.

STUDIES IN ENGLISH

2) Studies in English are paid.

3) Limit for studies in English will be increased.

4) In the event that it is not possible to present documents that are the basis for admission, the admission will be based on a conditional decision, provided that the missing documents are delivered at a later date, specified in the decision. Failure to provide the documents within the specified time limit will result in loss of student status.
