Support for students from Ukraine

You are entitled to financial aid regardless of whether you study full-time or part-time. There are various forms of such assistance at the University of Wrocław, some of which depend on your academic performance, and some on your family’s financial situation. The amount of the scholarship and the income threshold, on which the scholarship amount depends, are specified each year in the Rector’s ordinance. The following amounts are valid in the academic year 2021/2022.

You can get a maintenance grant if you are in a difficult financial situation. You are entitled to it if the average net income per family member does not exceed a certain amount (about PLN 1050). The scholarship amount varies from PLN 650 to 950 per month. If you live in a student house or in a hostel you are eligible for the increased amount of PLN 1150 – 1600.

You can get a scholarship for people with disabilities if you have a disability certificate issued by an authority competent to provide such a certificate. Depending on the degree of disability, you will receive between PLN 450 and 800 per month regardless of your income.

Financial aid is a one-time cash benefit which you can apply for if you find yourself temporarily in a difficult life situation. The amount of the benefit varies from about PLN 500 to 2000.

You are entitled to the rector’s scholarship for the best students if you have achieved outstanding academic results, scientific, artistic or sporting achievements in a competition at least at the national level. A student of the first year of studies who is a winner of an International Olympiad or a winner or finalist of a central-level Olympiad, referred to in the regulations on the educational system, or a medalist in at least a national competition for the title of Polish Champion in a given sport, referred to in the regulations on sport, may also apply for such a scholarship. Such scholarship amounts to PLN 900 per month.

The Young Researcher Scholarship is a scholarship which may be awarded to 100 students who entered the university with the highest number of recruitment points already in their first year of studies. This scholarship is offered by the University of Wrocław thanks to its status as a Research University. Within the Young Researcher Scholarship, we have as much as 1 million to divide for the best ones. The Young Researcher scholarship is combined with a scholarship for olympic contestants, so in the first year of studies students at the UWr can count on even PLN 2 thousand per month.

All financial aid benefits are granted at the request of a student. Apart from them, the best students may also receive the minister’s scholarships for outstanding achievements (granted at the request of the Faculty Council presented by the rector).

The material aid benefits are financed from the state budget from the funds allocated to the university within the scholarship fund.
