Graduation Ceremony ‘2026
Another Graduation Ceremony is behind us! On Friday 17 July, during the ceremony in the Leopoldina Hall, graduates of the English-taught degree programmes received their graduation diplomas. Huge congratulations!
This year, 331 students graduated from English-taught degree programmes at the University of Wrocław. During Friday’s Graduation Ceremony, diplomas were recieved by 97 graduates from the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Biotechnology, the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Environmental Protection, the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences, the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, the Faculty of Social Communication and Media, and the Faculty of Social Sciences, as well as by 150 graduates from the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics.
The ceremony in the Leopoldina Hall was divided into two sessions. The morning session was dedicated to graduates of the Faculty of Chemistry, the Faculty of Biotechnology, the Faculty of Earth Sciences and Environmental Management, the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences, the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy, the Faculty of Social Communication and Media, and the Faculty of Social Sciences. Hence the presence of the deans and vice-deans of these faculties, as well as the vice-rectors of the University of Wrocław, dr Łukasz Prus, Vice-Rector for Student Affairs, and Prof. Łukasz Machaj, Vice-Rector for Teaching.

In the afternoon, graduates of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wrocław received their diplomas. The ceremony was attended by the Rector of the University of Wrocław, Prof. Robert Olkiewicz, and the Vice-Rectors, dr Łukasz Prus and Prof. Łukasz Machaj, as well as the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics for Research and International Cooperation, Prof. Bartłomiej Krzan.

This year’s graduates of English-taught degree programmes come from Poland and from countries such as: Turkey, India, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Ukraine, China, Egypt, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Romania, Pakistan, South Korea, Thailand, Portugal, Slovenia, Jamaica, Sierra Leone, Indonesia, Iraq, the Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Spain, Japan, the Philippines, Georgia, the United Arab Emirates, Slovenia, Vietnam, Iceland, Ecuador, Kenya, Nigeria, Tunisia, Algeria, Colombia, Mexico, Sri Lanka, Russia, Bulgaria, Rwanda, the United States, Bangladesh, Morocco, Myanmar, Peru, Canada, Italy, Jordan, Montenegro, Moldova, The Gambia and South Korea.
What degree programmes have our graduates completed?
Undergraduate programmes: Bachelor’s in Chemistry, Bachelor’s in Biotechnology, Bachelor’s in European Cultures, Bachelor’s in International Relations: Global Studies, Bachelor’s in Political Science, Bachelor’s in Business and Administration, Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice.
Postgraduate programmes: Master’s in Chemistry: Advanced Synthesis in Chemistry, Master’s in Medical Biotechnology, Master’s in Geography: Tourism and Hospitality, Master’s in Astrophysics, Master’s in Communication Management, Master’s in Media Content Creation, Master’s in Journalism and Social Communication, Master’s in International Relations: Global Studies, Master’s in Sociology: Intercultural Mediation, Master’s in European Studies: EU Politics, Master’s in Administration in International Organisations, Master’s in LLM International & European Law, Master’s in Economics and Finance, Master’s in Managerial Economics.
Among this year’s graduates, the Rector’s scholarship holders, amongst others, deserve special mention. There are 34 of them (they are nationals of Ukraine, Turkey, Mexico, Germany, Peru, Ecuador, Canada, Vietnam, Iran, Montenegro, Egypt, Belarus, Georgia, South Africa, Kazakhstan and India).
Among the graduates who have shared their achievements and successes with us during their studies are:
- Asli Nur Altinay – a graduate of the Bachelor’s degree programme in Biotechnology, originally from Turkey. She took part in the research project ‘A new animal model of human McArdle’s disease in zebrafish (Danio rerio)’, carried out at the Department of Animal Developmental Biology within the Faculty of Biological Sciences as part of the SONATA 17 grant funded by the National Science Centre. She was actively involved in the “Przybysz” student society during the 2024/2025 academic year, where she co-organised the BioLOCK 2025 international conference. Member of the University of Wrocław’s International Student Orchestra, UniOrchestra – choreographer and concert director. Recipient of the Rector’s Scholarship for academic achievement in the 2025/2026 academic year. Conference participant (poster preparation: 4th Polish Zebrafish Society Meeting).
- Omar Jouhari – a graduate of the Bachelor’s programme in International Relations: Global Studies, of Polish origin, who completed his studies with a first-class honours degree. In the 2025/2026 academic year, he served as Deputy Chair of the ‘Projekt Europa’ European Studies Students’ Research Society, operating under the Institute of European Studies at the University of Wrocław. During his studies, he developed his interests in diplomacy and international relations by being active in the Polish Forum of Young Diplomats and undertaking an internship at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Rabat.
- Dhrubajyoti Rakshit – a Master’s graduate in Astrophysics from India. Co-organiser of the event and awarded for the best presentation at the ‘Quark Confinement and Hadron Spectrum’ conference, Wrocław, 29 June – 4 July 2026. Recipient of an IDUB grant for young researchers, intended to cover the costs of travel and participation in a conference in Barcelona in May 2026. Participant in prestigious scientific conferences in the fields of theoretical physics and astrophysics, at which he presented his research findings in the form of posters or presentations:
- – 61st Karpacz School on Theoretical Physics, 1–7 March 2025,
- – 62nd Karpacz School on Theoretical Physics, 28 February – 6 March 2026,
- – participation and presentation at the conference: ‘Compact Stars in the QCD Phase Diagram’, Barcelona, 18–23 May 2026.
