Szewski Czwartek in May
The Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław invites you to “Szewski Czwartek” in May!
The speaker will be dr hab. Katarzyna Kuras, prof. from the Institute of History of the Jagiellonian University. She will deliver a lecture entitled „Czy podróżnik mówi prawdę? Autokreacja, konfabulacja i gra z odbiorcą w korespondencji Józefa Aleksandra Jabłonowskiego (1729–1731)”.
The lecture will take place on Thursday, 7th of May at 6:00 pm on the Teams platform.
Prof. Kuras is the author of books like „Współpracownicy i klienci Augusta A. Czartoryskiego w czasach saskich” (Kraków 2010) and „Dwór królowej Marii Leszczyńskiej. Ludzie, pieniądze, wpływy” (Kraków 2018), as well as co-author of „Ostatnie wielkie widowisko barokowej Europy. Polskie relacje z uroczystości weselnych Fryderyka Augusta i Marii Józefy w Wiedniu i Dreźnie w 1719” (Kraków 2015). Her research interests focus on the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth during the Saxon era (1697-1763), biography and the places of history of modern Europe.
