Scientific Councils<\/h1>\n\n\n

The tasks of the scientific councils are regulated in the statute of the University of Wroc\u0142aw (\u00a729).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tasks of a scientific council include in particular:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    \n
  1. awarding academic degrees in a given discipline;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  2. recognizing diplomas for the award of academic degrees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  3. cooperating with deans in striving for the highest quality of research in a given discipline;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  4. cooperating with deans in the evaluation of scientific activity in a given discipline;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  5. proposing criteria for the employment of academic teachers in a given discipline;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  6. proposing criteria for the scientific evaluation of academic teachers in a given discipline in research and research and teaching staff groups;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  7. proposing a strategy for the development of the discipline at the University;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  8. overseeing the training of doctoral students in the doctoral school in the discipline, including: – proposing recruitment criteria, – proposing training programmes, – ensuring that the college complies with the requirements for the evaluation of doctoral schools;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  9. appointing committees to carry out certain activities in proceedings for the award of the doctoral degree;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  10. taking decisions and other actions in matters concerning postdoctoral proceedings, including identifying candidates for postdoctoral committees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  11. giving opinions on applications for the conferment of powers equivalent to those conferred by the degree of doktor habilitowany in a given discipline;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  12. giving its opinion on the employment of academic staff in research and research and teaching positions;<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  13. nominating a candidate for the selection committee referred to in \u00a7 172 of the Statute.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n
