Who can become rector? UWr elections<\/h1>\n\n\n

Eight candidates were put forward as candidates for Rector at the indictment meetings of the University Electoral College (UKE) and the University Council (RU) on 28 February 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If the designated people, within four days, submit the relevant consents to stand for election and declarations that they meet the legal requirements, they will become official candidates for Rector of the UWr.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Amongst other things, a candidate for rector must hold a professor’s or postdoctoral degree and be no older than 70 at the start of the term, i.e. by 1 September 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the Aula Leopoldina, the indictment meeting of the UKE began at 11.00 am. Each of the electors present was able to nominate one person who, in their opinion, should stand for rector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The electors present at the meeting were elected in earlier elections. Each group has a corresponding number of seats. The distribution of seats can be found here: https:\/\/uwr.edu.pl\/wybory-2024\/podzial-mandatow\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The College of Electors (UKE) named 8 individuals at the indictment meeting. They are, in alphabetical order:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Artur B\u0142a\u017cejewski, 22 votes
2. Patrycja Matusz, 1 vote
3. Robert Olkiewicz, 77 votes
4. Dariusz Rakus, 1 vote
5. Jan Sobczyk, 3 votes
6. Jacek Sutryk, 1 vote
7. Robert Wieczorek, 14 votes
8. Marcin Wodzi\u0144ski, 62 votes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A few hours later, at 2 pm, the University Council met in the UWr Senate room. Any member of the Council has the right to propose candidates for Rector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The University Council nominated the following candidates for appointment:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

1. Robert Olkiewicz,\u00a0 2 votes
2. Robert Wieczorek,\u00a0 2 votes
3. Marcin Wodzi\u0144ski,\u00a0 4 votes<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The method of submitting the relevant documents to become a candidate for rector is set out in the\u00a0KOMUNIKAT NR 1\/2024 Przewodnicz\u0105cego UKW z dnia 27 lutego 2024 r. w sprawie sposobu zg\u0142aszania kandydatur w wyborach Rektora Uniwersytetu Wroc\u0142awskiego na kadencj\u0119 2024-2028<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Monday, 4 March, the Chairman of the University Election Committee will make public the announcement of the candidates put forward for the Rector’s election.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
