New issues of scientific journals<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

There has been a lot of work lately at the Publishing House on new issues of scientific journals. We highly recommend the titles recently added to the Scientific Journals on the Web platform:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Prace kulturoznawcze” Vol. 28 No. 2 (2024): Problemy kultury \u2014 problemy z kultur\u0105. Cz. 1 | Prace Kulturoznawcze<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The main theme of this volume of \u201cPrace Kulturoznawcze” is worth considering as a call for a renewed discussion of the object, function and role of theoretical thinking about culture or, more strongly, cultural theory. It needs to redefine itself in the face of the expansion of various cultural turns, cultural studies and newer forms of philosophy of culture. Related to this is the question of the very status of theoretical reflection, which seems to be currently in retreat. And yet, taking up a more or less specific issue of culture is not independent to theoretical reflection on it, moreover – the more momentous questions are taken up, the more they require conceptual, categorical and systematizing attention. The dissertations included in this volume are examples or exercises in such a research procedure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Prace Literackies” Volume 63 (2024) | Prace Literackie<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The theme of the 63rd volume of Prace Literackie is the relationship between music and literature. The authors of the included texts pose questions about the specificity of the musicality of literature, while considering how sounds create the audiosphere of a literary work. The issue opens with articles on a Latin musical treatise by Czech humanist V\u00e1clav Philomathes and Sophie of Hungary’s Paris Chronicle, which includes reflections on the art of opera. The notebook also features sound emanations of the imaginary world in Marcel Proust’s famous novel In Search of Lost Time, novel symphonies by authors born in the 1970s, and sonosphere and surconventionalism in children’s literature. In addition, we present an article on traces of Chopin in the early lyrical work of Marek Grechuta, as well as on pause and silence as constitutive elements of song. The issue closes with a Varia section containing articles on Jan Czeczot’s letters to Adolf Kobylinski from Cieszewla, Julian Stryjkowski, and performative narrative in Jakub \u017bulczyk’s Black Sun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le num\u00e9ro 71 des Romanica Wratislaviensia, intitul\u00e9 ” La traductologie en fran\u00e7ais : sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s, inspirations, r\u00e9sonances “, r\u00e9unit des \u00e9tudes qui pr\u00e9sentent la sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9 de la traductologie francophone, et notamment canadienne, ou gravitent autour de quelques th\u00e8mes majeurs (retraduction, paratextes de traduction, circulation internationale des biens symboliques et march\u00e9 de la traduction) abord\u00e9s dans l’optique des apports de plusieurs chercheurs fran\u00e7ais (Antoine Berman, G\u00e9rard Genette, Pierre Bourdieu). Elles sont le r\u00e9sultat des discussions men\u00e9es pendant le colloque c\u00e9l\u00e9brant en 2022, \u00e0 Cracovie, le 25e anniversaire de la collaboration du R\u00e9seau th\u00e9matique ” La traduction comme moyen de communication interculturelle ” (Universit\u00e9s de Lille, de Wroc\u0142aw, Jagellonne et de Haute-Alsace (Mulhouse)). Who in Krak\u00f3w? This week, the Faculty of Polish Studies of the Jagiellonian University will host an author meeting around Justyna Bajda’s book, “B\u0142\u0119kitny fin de si\u00e8cle. Kolor niebieski w kulturze i literaturze M\u0142odej Polski,” published by the University of Wroc\u0142aw Press in the spring of 2024! A unique opportunity to hear about the color blue in Krak\u00f3w!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Prof. Justyna Bajda will talk about colours of blue with Krystyna Zabawa (Ignatianum University), the meeting will be moderated by Lidia Kami\u0144ska (Jagiellonian University).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
