Konkursy
Polsko-Francuska Nagroda Naukowa im. Marii Skłodowskiej-Curie i Pierre’a Curie
Nagroda przyznawana jest parze współpracujących ze sobą naukowców z Polski i Francji. Celem nagrody jest podkreślenie korzyści płynących z polsko-francuskiej współpracy naukowej. Wyróżnienie jest dowodem uznania ich wspólnych osiągnięć, które przyczyniają się do umocnienia współpracy naukowej między obu krajami.
Laureaci otrzymają po 15 tys. euro, w tym 5 tys. euro jako nagrodę indywidualną i 10 tys. euro w postaci subsydium na kontynuowanie współpracy naukowej.
Nagroda przyznawana jest na podstawie nominacji, w tym autonominacji. Kandydatów może nominować każdy czynny przedstawiciel polskiego i francuskiego środowiska naukowego. Nominacje mogą dotyczyć badaczy i badaczek reprezentujących wszystkie dziedziny nauki.

Gerda Henkel Preis
Co dwa lata Fundacja im. Gerdy Henkel przyznaje nagrodę za wybitne osiągnięcia naukowe w dyscyplinach i obszarach finansowania wspieranych przez Fundację. Nominowane mogą być zarówno pojedyncze osoby, jak i zespoły kilku badaczy. Nagroda wynosi 100 000 euro. Fundacja koncentruje się na humanistyce historycznej: archeologii, historii, islamistyce historycznej, historii sztuki, historii prawa, prehistorii i historii wczesnej oraz historii nauki.
Prawo zgłaszania kandydatów do nagrody przysługuje m.in. rektorom szkół wyższych – jako uczelnia mamy prawo zgłosić jedną kandydaturę.
Procedura zgłaszania kandydatów na Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim przedstawia się następująco:

Nagroda Naukowa „Leopoldina”
Rektor, prof. R. Olkiewicz zaprasza do udziału w konkursie o Nagrodę Naukową „Leopoldina” 2026 przyznawaną przez Fundację Norberta i Barbary Heisigów.
Nagroda w wysokości 20 000 zł jest przyznawana za wybitną pracę naukową z zakresu nauk humanistycznych, uwzględniającą aspekty niemiecko-polskie lub europejskie, zrealizowaną w Uniwersytecie Wrocławskim.
O Nagrodę mogą ubiegać się autorzy prac opublikowanych w ciągu ostatnich dwóch lat lub przyjętych do druku w tym okresie.
Osoby przystępujące do konkursu zobowiązane są dostarczyć do Biura Rektora dokumenty wskazane w warunkach konkursu w nieprzekraczalnym terminie do 28 lutego 2026 r.

Call for Papers: »Eine Grenze ist eine soziologische Tatsache, die sich räumlich formt«. Historische Praktiken und kulturelle Dynamiken in der Praxis der Grenzziehungen (bis 1939)
Die Konferenz richtet sich in erster Linie an Historiker:innen, öffnet sich aber bewusst für Beiträge aus anderen Disziplinen wie Soziologie, Politikwissenschaft, Rechtswissenschaft und Geografie. Im Mittelpunkt steht die Frage, wie sich die Bedeutung und Wahrnehmung von Grenzen über längere Zeiträume verändert. Beiträge mit regionalem Fokus auf Mittel- und Osteuropa sind besonders willkommen, wobei der Schwerpunkt auf dem historischen polnischen und deutschen Kultur- und Geschichtsraum liegt. Vergleichende Perspektiven aus anderen Regionen sind ebenfalls von großem Interesse. Für jeden Vortrag ist eine Dauer von 20 Minuten vorgesehen. Die Veröffentlichung der Beiträge ist im Jahrbuch »Bulletin der Polnischen Historischen Mission« Nr. 22 (2027) vorgesehen.
Die Konferenz findet am 24.–25. September 2026 in Würzburg statt.

Call for Papers: Polish Romanticism. Transnational Constellations
Romanticism represents a central epoch in Polish literary and cultural history that continues to have an impact to this day. It is regarded, with good reason, as the decisive, almost paradigmatic formation for Poland’s cultural identity. In the summer of 2027, an exhibition at the Deutsches Romantik-Museum (»Spirits of Freedom. Polish Romanticism«, Frankfurt am Main) will provide insights into the characteristic features of Polish Romanticism and shed light on its connections within European contexts. The 33rd Conference of the German-Polish Working Group for Art History and Monument Preservation prepares this exhibition by focusing specifically on its transnational dimensions.
The conference languages are German, Polish, and English. Part of the conference will be interpreted simultaneously into German and Polish. Presentations may be given in any of the three languages. The organizers will cover travel and accommodation costs, provided sufficient funding is available. Abstracts (max. one page, 2500 characters, biogram 500 characters) are requested with topic suggestions for presentations (25 minutes) or short panels (90 minutes) with several thematically coordinated presentations led by one or more persons. This call for papers is open to scholars at all career stages.

Breslau – Wrocław: Transnational and Transregional Encounters. Resituating Research of German-Jewish Breslau and Polish-Jewish Wrocław
This special issue of Studia Judaica seeks to contribute to current research in European Jewish studies to historize the divide between Polish and German Jewry. The editors believe that this line of investigation is crucial for a deeper understanding of the specific history of Jewish Breslau|Wrocław as a space of contact, conflict, and transition. We are particularly yet not exclusively interested in new research with relevance for the following three topics of Breslau’s|Wrocław’s Jewish history from the nineteenth century to the present.
We invite scholars in the humanities – particularly in history, art history, cultural studies, ethnography, memory studies, language studies and related fields – to submit paper proposals (250-400 words) and a CV including a list of publications. Proposals should include a tentative title, a clear definition of the article’s scope, a main argument or research question, a brief description of the key sources or literature to be consulted, and, where relevant, the methods to be employed. Please send the application as a single file by January 15, 2026, to this address. The special issue and all accepted articles will be published in English.

Call for Papers: PROTEST! Expression, Organization and Impact in a Central and Eastern European Perspective
The conference aims to focus on various forms of protest and resistance, their structural conditions and consequences, as well as their (current and retrospective) legitimization vs. condemnation. While protest is a global phenomenon, we are focusing on contributions that explore its manifestations in Central and Eastern Europe across different historical periods (from the early modern era to the present). We will also accept papers addressing theoretical and methodological aspects of protest.
Possible approaches and topics:
- Processes of negotiation and the role/effectiveness of protest initiators
- Interpretations and evaluations (what can protest be?) – from peaceful participation movements and emancipatory self-empowerment to violent or radicalized forms of resistance
- Political substructures as resistance to state structures
- Petitions and other forms of civic engagement
- Transnational protest and its cross-border diffusion
- Exclusionary and discriminatory protest movements
- Narratives and perspectives (e.g., emancipatory histories of the oppressed vs. narratives of uprising)

Call for papers for twin workshops in Lüneburg and Helsinki
Religious entanglements during perestroika: Looking at cross-border contacts at state and grass-roots level. We welcome proposals that explore the entangled history of religion during perestroika from the perspectives of history, religious studies, and anthropology. We are especially interested in source-based case studies that uncover how people, texts, funds, artifacts, and norms moved across the “Iron Curtain” and circulated within the diverse and multifaceted Soviet Union. While work on Orthodox and Catholic contexts is welcome, we especially seek contributions on initiatives from EKD milieus, free evangelical communities, and the often-overlooked Islamic, Jewish, Buddhist, and neo-pagan settings.
Max Weber Netzwerk Osteuropa is particularly interested in research that addresses:
- grassroots and regional (provincial) initiatives, especially in the republics of Central Asia and the Baltic states, as well as in the Far East, the Caucasus, and other regions;
- sensitivity to gender aspects, with special attention to hidden or overlooked women’s roles;
- religious or spiritually based humanitarian, educational, artistic, and ecological initiatives.

Postdoctoral Researcher in Biomedical and Biotechnological Sciences
Required requirements for the position at the Aragon Health Research Institute Foundation (IIS Aragon): hold a PhD in Biomedical and Biotechnological Sciences and five years of proven experience in research in the field of Biomedicine.
The main functions to be developed are:
- Processing and analysis of biological samples (blood, sputum, lung biopsy, bronchoalveolar lavage) according to protocols and under the guidelines of the IP.
- Technical support in molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (PCR, qPCR, Western Blot, ELISA, cytometry, omics) following the protocols established by the Principal Investigator.
- Maintenance and monitoring of cell models under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
- Processing of omics data (transcriptomics, proteomics and epigenomics) following defined protocols, under the hierarchical dependence of the Principal Investigator.
- Collection of results for clinical integration: organization of molecular and clinical data under the supervision of scientific direction.
- Collaboration in the collection of information and preparation of draft results for inclusion in publications or scientific reports, always under the supervision of the Principal Investigator.
- In addition to the above, other technical or scientific support tasks necessary for the project may be carried out, always within the functions assigned to Group C of the research staff.

Stypendium badawcze New Europe College 2026/27
Konkurs, organizowany przez New Europe College (NEC) – Institute for Advanced Study w Bukareszcie, skierowany jest do polskich i międzynarodowych badaczy na etapie postdoktorskim reprezentujących nauki humanistyczne i społeczne, w tym m.in. prawo i ekonomię. Łącznie dostępnych jest około 25 stypendiów w ramach ośmiu programów badawczych. Stypendium obejmuje miesięczne świadczenie w wysokości 1 000 euro (wolne od podatku) oraz zakwaterowanie w Bukareszcie, zapewniające zarówno przestrzeń do życia, jak i do pracy badawczej. Uczestnicy otrzymują również zwrot kosztów podróży z kraju zamieszkania do Bukaresztu i z powrotem, bezpłatny dostęp do biblioteki NEC oraz zasobów elektronicznych, a także jednorazowe dofinansowanie wyjazdu badawczego lub udziału w konferencji w wybranej instytucji.
Od stypendystów oczekuje się realizacji indywidualnego projektu badawczego oraz aktywnego udziału w wydarzeniach naukowych organizowanych przez NEC. Obowiązkowe jest uczestnictwo w cotygodniowych seminariach, podczas których omawiane są postępy prac, a także złożenie końcowego artykułu naukowego powstałego w trakcie trwania stypendium.

The Policy Leader Fellowship (PLF)
The Policy Leader Fellowship (PLF) is a residential programme at the Florence School of Transnational Governance (STG) aimed for mid-career policy professionals from a range of policy fields: politics, civil service, media, non-governmental organisations and others. This unique programme is nested within one of the most renowned academic institutions in Europe and provides the fellows with an insider view into the EU policy making processes. The programme is particular in its aim to attract individuals with diverse hands-on experiences in policy-making across the world and does not require academic training background. Besides having direct access to the STG and the EUI faculty and researcher community, the fellows learn from each other and form lasting professional and personal connections.
The fellows spend five or ten months at the STG developing policy recommendations and practical solutions for pressing issues of transnational relevance inspired and informed by their work experience. In addition, the fellows attend professional skills trainings and can freely participate in the academic life and activities of the EUI to enhance their fellowship project. At the same time, the fellows enrich the STG community by bringing their first-hand experiences to teaching, training and networking at the School.

IEG Fellowships for Doctoral Students
The Leibniz Institute of European History (IEG) in Mainz awards fellowships for doctoral students in European history, the history of religion and other historical disciplines.
The IEG funds PhD projects in European history from early modern to contemporary history. We are particularly interested in projects with a comparative or cross-border approach, on Europe in its relation to the wider world, on topics of intellectual and religious historywith digital tools and methods or on environmental history.
IEG Fellowships provide a unique opportunity to pursue and finalize individual PhD projects while living and working at the institute in Mainz for 6–12 months. The monthly stipend is 1,350 Euro. Additionally, it is possible to apply for a family allowance (partner 250 Euro, first child 400 Euro, every further child 100 Euro). Successful candidates are required to reside at the institute in Mainz throughout the duration of their fellowship. For family-friendly arrangements, please contact the Fellowship Office. Fellows are expected to be active members on the IEG’s research community and to participate in the weekly colloquia and scholarly activities. Moreover, they will present their work in progress at least once during their stay. At the time of the application deadline, candidates should have pursued their PhD for a maximum of three years; reasonable exceptions are possible. The IEG supports the writing up of dissertations and does not provide funding for preliminary research, language courses or the revision of book manuscripts. PhD theses continue to be supervised under the auspices of the fellows’ home universities. We expect good proficiency in English.

Jego celem jest doskonalenie sztuki przekładu i pisania w duchu standardów literackich i translatorskich bliskich Albrechtowi Lemppowi oraz upamiętnienie jego wkładu do polsko-niemieckiej wymiany literackiej.
Stypendium im. Albrechta Lemppa organizowanie przez Fundację Współpracy Polsko-Niemieckiej, Instytut Książki i Literarisches Colloquium Berlin, przeznaczone jest dla pisarzy i pisarek z Polski i Niemiec oraz dla niemieckich tłumaczy i tłumaczek literatury polskiej i polskich tłumaczy/ tłumaczek literatury niemieckojęzycznej.
Na program stypendialny składają się rokrocznie dwa jednomiesięczne pobyty w kraju sąsiada:
1) Jeden miesiąc w domu gościnnym Literarisches Colloquium Berlin dla polskiego pisarza lub tłumacza/ polskiej pisarki lub tłumaczki. Fundatorzy pokrywają koszty podróży i zakwaterowania oraz wypłacają stypendium w wysokości 1200 Euro.
2) Jeden miesiąc w Krakowie, w pokojach Kolegium Tłumaczy Instytutu Książki, dla niemieckiego pisarza lub tłumacza/ niemieckiej pisarki lub tłumaczki. Fundatorzy pokrywają koszty podróży i zakwaterowania oraz wypłacają stypendium w wysokości 1200 Euro.

KWI International Fellowship Programmes
Our KWI International Fellowships are 6-month-scholarships at the Institute for Advanced Study in the Humanities (KWI) in Essen, which address excellent international researchers from the humanities, cultural studies, and the social sciences with a completed PhD plus up to 6 years of post-doctoral experience. The Thyssen@KWI Fellowship, financed by the Fritz Thyssen Foundation, is integrated into the fellowship programme and reaches out to excellent researchers of all nationalities with a completed PhD plus several years of post-doctoral experience.
Currently, research at KWI focuses on the following areas: science studies, visual literacy, aesthetic practices, constellations of historical impact, and dialogues between the cultural and social sciences. It is one of KWI’s main goals to find new ways of linking research questions, concepts, methods and theories of philology, cultural studies and the social sciences. We are dedicated to pursuing our interdisciplinary agenda through international collaboration. An important contribution to our scholarly and political work comes from the Academy in Exile, offering research space to colleagues whose academic freedom is threatened.

Bayhost – Study in Bavaria
For the the academic year 2026/27, the Free State of Bavaria will once again be awarding one-year scholarships to graduates (with appropriate citizenship) from Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia and Ukraine. The scholarship is intended to finance postgraduate studies (i.e. Master’s programs), PhDs or one-year research stays at a state or state-funded higher education institution in Bavaria. The one-year scholarship can generally be extended twice for up to 3 years. The scholarship is paid out monthly €992 and amounts to €11.904 per year. Students with at least one child receive €1.152 per month, which amounts to €13.824 per year.
Funding is generally provided for a maximum period of three years. The scholarship is granted for one year (but no longer than until completion of studies or PhD) and can be extended twice for one year each time upon application.

ETH Postdoctoral Fellowships
The ETH Postdoctoral Fellowship programme (ETH Fellows) supports incoming postdoctoral researchers at ETH Zurich. The programme is intended to foster young researchers who have already demonstrated scientific excellence in the early stages of their careers.
Applications to ETH Fellows have to be supported by an ETH Zurich professor acting as the mentor of the fellow. A professor may only submit with one candidate in each evaluation round. There must be convincing synergies between the host (group) and the ETH Fellow. The fellowships are intended as early support towards academic independence, hence priority will be given to applicants who propose their own projects. Bogliasco Fellowships
An American nonprofit with a program in Italy, the Bogliasco Center awards one-month residential Fellowships to individuals of all ages and nationalities who are developing significant new work in the arts and humanities.
Bogliasco Fellowships are merit-based and awarded to gifted artists and scholars without regard to nationality, age, race, gender, religion, physical ability or any other status. Applicants may propose projects on any subject area in the following disciplines:

- Film/Video
- History
- Landscape Architecture
- Literature
- Music
- Philosophy
- Public Humanities
- Theater
- Visual Arts
The Spring 2027 deadline is March 6th, 2026, with an extended deadline of March 13th, 2026.

Gerda Henkel Foundation PhD Scholarship
A special focus of the Gerda Henkel Foundation is support for up-and-coming scholars. Special attention is made when approving grants to enable qualified young researchers of both sexes to conduct scientific work for a limited period of time and in order to improve their academic training. As part of its Ph.D. programme, the Foundation seeks to promote highly-qualified new academic talent. Only those candidates are considered whose study achievements and exam performances show them to be especially gifted and whose Ph.D. theses can be expected to yield well above-average results. At present, each year about 50 scholarships are awarded.
Research projects in the following fields are supported in particular:

- Prehistory and Early History
Applications for PhD scholarships are considered throughout the year. Recipients of PhD scholarships will be selected four times a year.

Green Hydrogen ERA Fellowships
Trwa nabór do programu finansowania badań nad zielonym wodorem ERA Green Hydrogen Fellowships. Program skierowany jest do studentów studiów II stopnia, doktorantów i młodych naukowców (postdocs) ze wszystkich dziedzin naukowych zajmujących się szeroko pojętym tematem zielonego wodoru i jego zastosowań.
Program obejmuje w zależności od grupy akademickiej stypendia na pełne studia typu master, krótszy pobyt studyjny, pracę magisterską, praktyki i pobyty badawcze w Niemczech.
Termin aplikacji dla doktorantów i naukowców z tytułem doktora: w dowolnym momencie.

Call for Applications: Eugen-Ewig-Stipendien (m/w/d) (DHI Paris)
Viermonatige Förderung für die Vorbereitung von Drittmittelanträgen. Das DHIP fördert Postdoktoranden und Postdoktorandinnen auf dem Weg zur Professur bei der Beantragung von Drittmitteln. Ziel der viermonatigen Förderung ist die Vorbereitung einer individuellen Projektfinanzierung oder, bevorzugt, einer Forschungsgruppe im Rahmen der inhaltlichen Schwerpunkte des Instituts. Wird ein erfolgversprechender Antrag eingereicht, ist eine Verlängerung des Stipendiums bis zur Entscheidung des Drittmittelgebers, maximal aber um acht Monate möglich.
Bewerbungen sind ganzjährig möglich.

Trwa nabór do programu stypendialnego Fundacji Humboldta. Dla badaczy, którzy zdobyli doktorat w ciągu ostatnich czterech lat. Wnioski mogą składać przedstawiciele wszystkich dyscyplin i specjalności naukowych ze wszystkich państw. W ramach stypendium mogą być również finansowane wizyty studyjne oraz udział w kongresach i szkoleniach. Wymagana jest znajomość języka niemieckiego i/lub angielskiego.
Wnioski mogą być składane w dowolnym momencie.
