10 October – World Mental Health Day
Mental health promotion at the University of Wrocław is a task aimed at strengthening mental health, processes supporting the maintenance of good health and creating conditions conducive to health. It is also a process that enables people to increase control over their own health and to improve it, to actively improve their health and not only to defend themselves against illness or disorder.
Mental health information is targeted at the whole community, not just at people with observed mental health problems. Maintaining mental health is fostered by developed protective factors and immune processes that reduce the destructive impact of risk factors, psychological crises, traumatic situations and events. Developing positive motivation or the ability to cope with emotions, stress, aggression – strengthen the individual’s strengths and adapt to difficult situations and challenges.
Mental health is worth considering not only in terms of risks or disorders, but primarily as resilience resources, forms of coping with mental health problems.
The University’s Support and Accessibility Team is staffed by psychologists who will analyse your problem and determine the next steps, if necessary. Get professional help. If you have any questions about how you react in social situations, how your emotions are affected or if you have had a long-lasting experience, ask the psychologists.
All students at UWr – if required – can register for psychological counselling. Registration takes place electronically via email address poradnia.psychologiczna@uwr.edu.pl sent exclusively from the @uwr.edu.pl domain.
