Meeting with the President of North Macedonia
On the 24th to 25th of October 2022, the President of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, visited Poland on an official visit. The official part of the visit included a meeting with President Andrzej Duda and a Poland-Northern Macedonia economic meeting with business representatives. Dr Maria Stryszewska from the Macedonian Studies Unit at the Institute of Slavic Studies was the interpreter from Polish and Macedonian during all talks and conferences.
On the second day of the visit, President Stevo Pendarovski met with Polish Macedonian Slavists. The University of Wrocław was represented at the meeting by members of the Macedonian Studies Unit at the Institute of Slavic Studies: dr hab. Jan Sokołowski, professor of the University of Wrocław, the head of the Macedonian Studies Unit, dr Iwona Łuczków, and dr Maria Stryszewska. During the meeting, prof. Jan Sokołowski informed President Pendarovski about the University of Wrocław’s scientific contacts with scientific units in Macedonia. Dr Iwona Łuczków and dr Maria Stryszewska briefly presented information on current research in the Macedonian language conducted by members of the Macedonian Studies Unit.
