University of Wrocław signed an agreement with Polish Security Printing Works

Educational, academic and organisational cooperation has been established between the University of Wrocław and the Polish Security Printing Works in Warsaw (PSPW). The cooperation agreement was signed on 7 December 2022 by both parties, represented by prof. Łukasz Machaj, the Vice-Rector of the University of Wrocław, and Maciej Biernat, the Chairman of the Board at the Polish Security Printing Works. Apart from the signees, the participants in the meeting held in the Senate Hall of the University of Wrocław were: prof. Jacek Przygodzki – Dean of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław, Aleksandra Grynkiewicz – Director of the Centre for Education and Training at PSPW, Michał Krupa – Director of the Strategy and Project Management Department at PSPW, and dr Rafał Cieśla of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław.

The agreement covers the cooperation, which will include, among others, conducting educational activities on ways of securing and verifying the authenticity of documents and banknotes, especially within the “Człowiek i Dokumenty” journal published by PSPW, co-organisation of academic conferences and training workshops on forgeries and ways of securing and verifying the authenticity of documents, and a publishing collaboration. Aleksandra Grynkiewicz of PSPW and dr Rafał Cieśla of the University of Wrocław were designated to coordinate the activities within the agreement.

The Polish Security Printing Works is one of the most advanced companies in the security printing market, both in Poland ad worldwide. For over a hundred years, PSPW has been implementing projects of strategic importance to the security of Poland and its citizens. It currently produces security documents of the highest quality and is a supplier of highly-specialised IT solutions for document handling. The company produces security documents, such as banknotes, passports, visas, stamps, and excise bands, as well as digital tachographs, ID cards, and IT systems for handling identity documents. Being the sole supplier of security documents to the Polish state, PSPW is one of the pillars of its security. It is worth mentioning that each year, PSPW products are used by a growing number of citizens from around the world. The company operates in the Central and South American, European and Asian markets.
