Dr hab. Halina Rusińska-Giertych passed away

We are deeply regret to announce that on 10 December 2022, dr hab. Halina Rusińska-Giertych, aged 57, passed away.

DR HAB. HALINA RUSIŃSKA-GIERTYCH

a well-known and respected national and international scholar of book culture, with particular emphasis on the history of Polish book culture in Lviv and monastic printing in the former lands of the Republic of Poland. A long-time employee of the Institute of Scientific Information and Library Science at the University of Wrocław, head of the Postgraduate Qualification Studies in Scientific Information and Library Science, educator of many generations of librarians and librarian teachers. She was the author of numerous scientific texts, among others the monographs

„Kultura książki polskiej we Lwowie w okresie oświecenia” (Wrocław 2018).

We would like to farewell an eminent scholar, valued and loved by her students, a passionate academic lecturer, a cheerful, optimistic colleague and a warm friend.

The funeral ceremony will commence on Monday 19 December 2022 at 13:20 with a Mass in the chapel of the municipal cemetery at ul. Osobowicka in Wrocław.
