Free medical check-ups for female UWr employees

The Department of Human Biology of the University of Wrocław invites female UWr employees aged between 40 and 65 to participate in free medical check-ups as part of the research project: “In search of determinants of women’s reproductive ageing – multifaceted research of transitions of the perimenopausal period”.

The check-ups will be held on 9 January and 12 January 2023 in building “A” of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at ul. Uniwersytecka 22/28, on the first floor in room 118.

The organisers will be waiting for women willing to participate in the research from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. There is no need to register for the check-ups in advance on the above-mentioned dates.

The project will involve the following tests and measurements:

  • somatic measurements (body height and weight, shoulder and hips width, circumference of bust, arm, waist and hips, thickness of skinfolds, length of the second and fourth finger of the hand), determination of blood pressure and pulse values,
  • comprehensive analysis of the body composition (subcutaneous fat, visceral fat, muscle mass and body water content),
  • assessment of the right and left hand muscular strength.

Participants in the research will receive a set of results, reliable information on the menopause, attractive gifts from reputable manufacturers of prised natural cosmetics, as well as invitations for free preventive check-ups.

Detailed information about the conditions of participation and the course of the research can be found on the website of the Department of Human Biology.
