Arqus and universities in Ukraine – cooperation
The Ministry of Education and Science and the National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) have come up with an initiative to subsidise activities with partner universities from Ukraine that are complementary and synergistic to those planned to be implemented within the framework of the European University Alliance. Our University’s International Office has therefore prepared a project to enable cooperation between Ukrainian universities and members of the Arqus Alliance. This project was favourably reviewed by the Agency and we were awarded funding for the following activities:
-organisation of a summer school in political science,
-organisation of a summer school in life sciences,
-3 workshops for representatives of Ukrainian universities (management staff, academic staff, administrative staff),
– study visits by Ukrainian students and staff to Arqus network universities.
Forms of action such as summer schools, workshop meetings and study visits will allow networking and the initiation of in-depth cooperation in areas other than those proposed in the project. The University of Wrocław will become a link in building relations between Ukrainian partners and European universities belonging to the Arqus Alliance. With a long tradition of cooperation with universities across Ukraine, with particular emphasis on the universities of Lviv, Kyiv and Chernivtsi, our university will serve both the Ukrainian side and the members of the alliance with its experience. Wrocław will also become an important meeting place.
The assumed effect of the project is, on the one hand, to introduce Ukrainian universities to the idea, methodology and field of activities of the European University project and, on the other hand, to deepen the knowledge among the academic communities of the universities participating in the Arqus Alliance about Ukraine, its history, identity and freedom aspirations.
The following Ukrainian universities are partners in the Arqus for Ukraine Project:

3. The Yuri Fedkovych National University of Chernivtsi
4. Kyiv Mohyla Academy National University
