The Tadeusz Taube Chair of Jewish Studies at the University of Wrocław invites to a meeting with prominent photographer Agnieszka Traczewska, who documents the world of Orthodox Jewish people.
A meeting promoting the photographer’s book entitled. “Kroke” will take place on 22.02 (Wednesday) at 6.00 p.m. at the Chair of Jewish Studies (ul. św. Jadwigi 3/4) in the auditorium of prof. Jerzy Woronczak – room 115.
Agnieszka Traczewska will be interviewed about her work by prof. Marcin Wodziński – historian, scholar of Judaism.
Prof. Marcin Wodziński recommends the publication in the following way:
Agnieszka Traczewska has achieved the unattainable. Kroke tells a difficult story of Jewish religious life in today’s Kraków. And she does it faithfully, sometimes even painfully. But at the same time, it does so beautifully and – despite all doubts – optimistically. He shows the manifestations of true spirituality, surprising vitality, diversity and – above all – the continuation of true religious life. Without simplification, embellishment or sentimentality. Wisely, beautifully, poignantly.
