Dr Marta Kłopocka-Jasińska at the 20th Constitutionalist Congress

On March 23-24, 2023 took place the 20th Congress of the Association of Constitutionalists in Spain (XX Congreso de la Asociación de Constitucionalistas de España) dedicated to the challenges to the rule of the law in the 21st century. This year the Congress was organised by A Cathedral of Constitutional Law from University of Extremadura (Universidad de Extremadura), and the whole event took place in Cáceres in San Francisco Cultural Complex (Complejo Cultural de San Francisco).

Dr Marta Kłopocka-Jasińska, assistant professor in the Chair of Constitutional Law, Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics), was invited to participate in the plenary session of the Congress along with prof. Armin von Bogdandy (Director of the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law) and prof. Luis López Guerra (former judge of the European Court of Human Rights). Plenary session took the form of a debate, which was conducted by prof. María Casas Baamonde (former president of the Constitutional Court in Spain). There were questions about the greatest threats and challenges for the state under the rule of law in 21st century, illiberal democracy, fake news and the role of the social state in the modern world. Congress of the Assiociation of Constitutionalists in Spain is one of the most prestigious scientific events from the field of consitutional law. This year almost 300 people participated in this event.
