Young Researcher Grants – registration is now open!

We have great news for students and doctoral students of the University of Wrocław – registration for the first edition of the “Young Researcher 2023-2025” Grants competition within the Excellent Initiative programme – Research University, is now open. 

These scholarships are to promote the University of Wrocław students and doctoral students’ competence in scientific research development by facilitating contact with researchers international environment. 

PLN 1,000,000 per year between 2023-2025 has been allocated for all scientific activities included in the competition. 

We encourage you to read the competition details below: 

On March 31st, 2023, regulations of the “Young Researcher 2023-2025” Grants within the Excellent Initiative programme – Research University were announced by the University of Wrocław Rector’s ordinance 68/2023. It defines principles and criteria for awarding grants to support the University of Wrocław students and doctoral students’ competence in scientific research development by facilitating contact with researchers international environment.

These grants can be allocated for the following scientific activities:

  • to cover the costs of active participation in a foreign scientific conference or a foreign competition;
  • to cover the costs of participation in a foreign event broadening the knowledge and scientific competence; 
  • to cover the costs of accommodation in a foreign university or scientific research institution (from one to four weeks) in order to carry out research resulting in the preparation of publication or a grant application by an external institution; 
  • to fund the organisation of international scientific schools.

PLN 1,000,000 per year between 2023-2025 has been allocated to fund these aims. 
A separate ordinance of the Rector will establish a Young Researcher 2023-2025 Grants Team to assess your competition applications and decide on granting. Its voting membership will include: the University of Wrocław Student Self-Government and Doctoral Student Self-Government representatives. 
Applications for the grant competition can be submitted by eligible students and doctoral students of our University using one of the two online forms available on the University Competition System of the University of Wrocław website from the date of a message announcement to June 15th, 2023. 

Applications for grants to cover the costs of active participation in a foreign scientific conference or a foreign competition will be accepted in the competition continuously, and applications submitted to obtain these grants in a given month will be considered by the 15th day of the following month. 

Applications for grants to cover the costs of participation in a foreign event broadening the knowledge and scientific competence, to cover the costs of accommodation in a foreign university or scientific research institution, and to fund the organisation of an international scientific school will be considered after the application submission closure, no later than July 15th, 2023. 

We hope that this competition addressed to you, the future of our University, will attract significant interest. We encourage you to take a closer look at the competition Regulations. We realise that its content may not answer all your questions. Therefore, we have created a generally accessible channel on the MS Teams platform for the University of Wrocław students – “Young Researcher 2023-2025 Grants” Chanel, where you can post your questions in the chat or email form. We will collect information on your concerns until April 16th, 2023, after which we will hold a general meeting on MS Teams where we will try to answer your questions.
