“What to do to keep groundwater clean all the time” – lecture

Groundwater is that part of the Earth’s water resources that we cannot see on a daily basis. Yet they constitute the third largest body of water in the world, after the oceans and glaciers. Is anything threatening these vast water resources? Can we use them without any restrictions? Is every underground water drinkable? What can each of us do to ensure that we can use groundwater resources long term and safely? All these questions will be answered by dr Magdalena Modelska during a lecture to be held this Saturday – 15.04.2023 in Room 503 of the Institute of Geological Sciences, University of Wrocław (Pl. M. Borna 9) and online.

Wody podziemne to ta część zasobów wodnych Ziemi, której na co dzień nie możemy zobaczyć. A jednak stanowią trzeci największy zbiornik wodny na świecie, po oceanach i lodowcach. Czy coś tym ogromnym zasobom wodnym zagraża? Czy możemy z nich korzystać bez żadnych ograniczeń? Czy każda woda podziemna nadaje się do picia? Co każdy z nas może zrobić, żebyśmy mogli z zasobów wód podziemnych korzystać długo i bezpiecznie?
