Grant for the Student Scientific Association of Theriologists!
The Student Scientific Association of Theriologists has received a grant from the ministerial programme for its submitted project “Application of innovative solutions to accelerate the process of colonisation of compensatory roosts by bats.”
We give our congratulations to the University of Wrocław’s Association as well as their mentor, dr Joanna Furmankiewicz, from the Department of Behavioural Ecology!
The innovation of the submitted project lies in the use of ultrasonic decoys, which should increase bats’ interest in the boxes (such as the one pictured). The Association also intends to develop an optimal baiting scheme (which voices, when, how often, etc.). The grant amounts to PLN 43 550.
In the third edition of the Ministry of Education and Science’s programme “Student science clubs create innovations”, 174 projects were qualified for funding for a total of PLN 9 762 184.99
The winners were selected from 308 applications submitted for the competition.
