Celebrate Europe Day by joining the special edition of the Arqus Café!

On the occasion of Europe Day next 9th May 2023, the Alliance will hold a special edition of the Arqus Café.

Europe Day is a day to celebrate peace and unity throughout Europe. The date marks the anniversary of the historic “Schuman Declaration”, which is considered to be the beginning of what is now the European Union. The promotion of multilingualism and interculturalism is a key lever for European integration and identity. In this special edition of the Arqus Café, small games will be played in several languages aiming at mutual understanding, thus promoting multilingualism and interculturality.

We invite all Arqus students and interested people to participate in this Arqus Café on 9th May from 18:00 to 19:00 CEST. Just click on the registration link, fill in the details and you will get the link to the Zoom meeting room where the café will take place. The registration deadline is 8th May.

The Arqus Café is an online foreign language speaking programme. It was launched by the Arqus European University Alliance in 2020, is now running in its 6th round and has already had over 800 participants.

The Arqus Café is an online space where students from the Arqus universities can meet in small groups to practice and improve their foreign language skills in a relaxed atmosphere. It’s a great opportunity for students to expand their language and cultural knowledge informally together with other language learners. All levels are welcome, but it works best when students have a minimum of an A2/B1 level.

The cafés take place once a week for one hour online via ZOOM. The tutors guiding the Arqus Café sessions are either native speakers or have the language of the café as their first language. Past rounds of the Arqus Café offered sessions in Arabic, German, English, French, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese and Spanish.

The project “Integrated Program for the Development of the University of Wrocław 2018-2022” co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund
