
Jan and Wojciech Wawrzynek Prize
The jury of Jan and Wojciech Wawrzynek Prize announces the 33rd edition of the competition for the best master’s thesis defended in 2023, devoted to the political history, culture, and social problems of Silesia.
Works for the competition may be submitted by rectors, deans, directors of institutes, heads of university departments, and supervisors of master’s theses, as well as graduate students themselves with the consent of their supervisors (annex. Statement available at www.instytutslaski.pl in the tab: Nagroda im. J. I W. Wawrzynków – Warunki uczestnictwa). The deadline for submitting works is December 31, 2023.
The application should include a printed copy of the recommended master’s thesis and an electronic version of the thesis in PDF or Word format on a CD in one file (an electronic version can be sent to the e-mail address: sekretariat@instytutslaski.pl). A copy of the recommended master’s thesis should be accompanied by a consent to the processing of personal data (annex. Consent to the processing of personal data available at www.instytutslaski.pl in the tab: Nagroda im. J. i W. Wawrzynków – Warunki uczestnictwa) as well as the following information: name and surname of the author, date and place of birth, the exact address of residence, place of work, and contact information (phone number; e-mail). Please deliver them or send them by post in the form of a printout to the address of the Institute (45–082 Opole, ul. Piastowska 17) with a note on the envelope: ‘Konkurs im. Jana i Wojciecha Wawrzynków’.
The aim of the competition is to select the best of the master’s theses submitted in a given year, whose author receives a diploma and a cash prize of PLN 4,000 as well as a diploma from the marshal of Opolskie Voivodeship.
