At 6 p.m. in Room 1D (Building D of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the UWr), we invite you to a screening of the film „Iluminacja”. After the film, a short discussion with the director is scheduled at approximately 19.45. Both before and after the screening, it will be possible to purchase Krzysztof Zanussi’s latest books.
„Iluminacja” is K. Zanussi’s film essay, well-known in Poland and around the world, which is set in an academic environment during the communist era. The protagonist is a physics student searching for the meaning of life both in and out of science. The extreme materialism and scientism prevailing around him do not make this task any easier. Despite the unfavourable circumstances, at great cost, the protagonist finds this meaning and happiness. The path to both, shown in the film, has become a universal message for subsequent generations of scientists and students. The film represents the most important trend in Polish cinema since the end of the Second World War called the cinema of moral unrest.
The event is organised by the Institute of Philosophy of the University of Wrocław. Admission free.
