Dr Hanna Szłapka passed away

On 29 May 2023, dr Hanna Szłapka, aged 69, passed away. She was a senior lecturer at the Institute of German Studies and the Institute of English Studies at the University of Wrocław, a specialist in teaching foreign languages, an English translator, and a poem writer.

Her most important monographic translations: Martin Kitchen’s „Europa między wojnami” [Europe Between the Wars], Wrocław 2007; Julian Young’s Heidegger, „Heidegger, filozofia, nazizm” [Philosophy, Nazism], Warszawa-Wrocław 2000; Charles Carlton’s “Królewskie faworyty w Anglii” [Royal Mistresses], Wrocław 1992. In 2019, she published a poetry book – „Anatomia życia”[Anatomy of Life].

As notified by the family, the Holy Mass will be held on 2 June 2023 at 15:20 in the chapel of Osobowicki Cemetery, followed by an escort to the burial place.
