Succulent exhibition 8-11 June at the Botanical Garden
An exhibition of cacti and other succulents will be held at the Botanical Garden of the University of Wrocław from 8-11 June. It will be possible to admire extremely interesting specimens of succulent plants from well-known collectors and lovers of this group of plants.
The exhibition will be accompanied by a succulent fair and numerous additional attractions.
For all 4 days there will be a field game Niesamowity Świat Sukulentów” (‘The Amazing World of Succulents’) (game cards can be picked up at the Garden’s box office), guided tours of the Garden’s succulent collections (daily at 11.00, 12.00, 15.00, 16.00) the walk lasts about 20-30 minutes)
As part of the event on 8 June, there will also be a demonstration „Sukulenty w mikroskali” (‘Succulents on a microscale’) during which you will see what the cells in which succulents store water look like and learn why cacti are ‘untouchable’ succulents. You will see what the flowers and fruits of cacti look like and you will watch the seeds and seedlings growing from them. You will find that a single leaf of a thicket or sedum can produce new plants. We will provide learning and fun for all those curious about the world, young and old! (location-tent on the lawn by the succulent greenhouses).
In addition, there will be lectures, workshops for children and, on 11 June, a concert by “UNIORCHESTRA DREAM”, a group made up of UWr students (from the Erasmus exchange).
You are cordially invited!
