Prof. dr. hab. Aleksandra Samecka-Cymerman passed away
Prof. dr hab. Aleksandra Samecka-Cymerman (1955-2023) – head of the Department of Ecology, Biogeochemistry and Environmental Protection – Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Wrocław – passed away on May 28, 2023.
She has done research in the fields of biogeochemistry, hydrobiology and bioindication. She especially focused on the effects of substrate chemical properties on plants, the migration of xenobiotics in the environment, the role of macro-hydrophytes in self-purification of water and the use of bryophytes and higher plants as ecological indicators.
She was a member of the Polish Hydrobiological Society and the Polish Copernicus Society of Naturalists.
The funeral ceremony will begin with a Holy Mass in the chapel at the cemetery on ul. Grabiszyńska in Wrocław on June 6, 2023 (Tuesday) at 12:00 pm, followed by the ceremonial escort of the deceased to her eternal resting place.
