Young Polish scientists from Wrocław, Poznań and Warsaw in the arms of Sapienza
At the beginning of June 2023, the University of Rome “La Sapienza” hosted several dozen young scientists from Wrocław, Poznań and Warsaw, who took part in an international conference entitled BEYOND LANGUAGE 2023. The main organiser of this scientific meeting was the College of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies of the University of Rome.
The idea of organising an international conference almost simultaneously in Rome and Wrocław was a great success; everyone had time to present their research idea, to talk, to visit museums, to make new friends and to sightsee. The young researchers were able to get to know each other’s ideas and listen to dozens of presentations.
On behalf of the authorities of “La Sapienza” in Rome, the participants were warmly welcomed by Prof. Francesca Terrenato, while in Wrocław the last day of the conference was chaired by the Vice-Rector, prof. Robert Wieczorek.
The conference guests who presented plenary lectures were: (in Rome) prof. Camilla Miglio University of Rome “La Sapienza”) and prof. Patrizia Manduchi (University of Cagliari); (online) prof. Patricia von Münchow (Université Paris Cité, France), prof. Aleksandra Nowakowska (Université Paul Valéry Montpellier III, France); (in Wrocław) prof. Izabela Gatkowska (Jagiellonian University), prof. Wojciech Soliński (University of Wrocław).
The fruits of the conference of young academics are soon to appear in print in a special issue of the Academic Journal of Modern Philology – jointly published by the Wrocław Branch of the Polish Academy of Sciences and the University of Wrocław.
