The Lower Silesian Science Festival 2023 is just beginning

A great celebration of science in our region, the Lower Silesian Science Festival, starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday at the Piastów Śląskich Medical University in Wrocław!

The Lower Silesian Science Festival is a popular science event organised every year in September and October by Wrocław universities, institutes of the Polish Academy of Sciences and non-academic circles. It is addressed to everyone interested in science, culture, art and interesting phenomena in the world around us. The founders of the DFN want science to stop being perceived as hermetic, inaccessible and incomprehensible.

This year, the Wrocław edition will be held from 18 to 22 September, while away editions in Legnica, Zgorzelec, Lubin, Dzierżoniów, Głogów, Jelenia Góra, Wałbrzych, Ząbkowice Śląskie and Bystrzyca Kłodzka/ Kłodzko Land will be organised in September and October.

The DFN is a great “educational pill” – in a short period of time you can listen to interesting lectures, take part in discussions with scientists, visit normally inaccessible laboratories and research workshops of natural scientists, doctors, engineers, humanists and artists.

The Science Festival is also a way of integrating the scientific community around the promotion of science, shaping attitudes of responsibility of scientists for the use of scientific discoveries, promotion of regional educational initiatives, talented young people and assistance in choosing the direction of higher education.

One of the main and long-standing partners and creators of the Festival is the University of Wrocław. At the DFN, you will meet university scientists who will share their scientific passions with you and show you normally inaccessible nooks and crannies of their studios and laboratories.

We would like to invite all science enthusiasts to the Science Town, which will kick off this year’s DFN ?

And what’s on offer at the Science Town? More than 40 proposals, including chemical and physical demonstrations, a mobile language clinic, firefighters and military personnel, a forensic laboratory, an astronomy zone, a medical emergency service and a portable planetarium.

The programme and schedule of the Village can be found here.

The programme for the entire Lower Silesian Science Festival can be found on the festival website.

If you want to meet Fredro, take up the challenge of writing the Wrocław Dictation read by prof. Jan Miodek, learn to observe the weather and identify rocks, find out how to survive in space and what love magic is all about, or find out about the latest discoveries in virtually any field of science, you should check out the range of events organised by the University of Lower Silesia. Select ” University of Wrocław” as the organiser on the DFN website, and you are sure to find something to your liking. You are most welcome!

The project “Integrated Program for the Development of the University of Wrocław 2018-2022” co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund
