INCA ‘Increase corporate political responsibility and accountability’ research team conference
A three-day meeting of research teams involved in the INCA project ‘Increase corporate political responsibility and accountability’ dedicated to studying the impact of digital platforms on European democracies and institutions began in Wrocław on October 25. It was attended by 26 people from 12 European universities and research centers. The meeting was organized by the Institute of Sociology and the INCA team from Wrocław: Adam Mrozowicki (project manager), Szymon Pilch and Olga Gitkiewicz.
This was the second working meeting of the team. The first, inaugurating the project, was held in Bologna in September 2022. After a year, the participants gathered for the opening ceremony at the Aula Leopoldina of the University of Wrocław.
– I am very pleased that we can host researchers in Wrocław who deal with topics that affect nearly all spheres of reality – said prof. Artur Błażejewski, Vice-Rector for research, during the welcoming ceremony.
The guests were also welcomed by the director of the Institute of Sociology, prof. dr hab. Ewa Banaszak and the vice-dean for science and development, prof. dr hab. Mateusz Błaszczyk, who in their speeches emphasized the social importance of the project.

On Thursday, the INCA team was welcomed to the University Club Room by host team leader Adam Mrozowicki and project coordinator Edoardo Mollona of the University of Bologna. It was a day of intensive working meetings dedicated to analyzing the project’s progress and findings over the past year. Each team presented the activities carried out as part of the project and listened to comments from their colleagues.
Friday was a day dedicated to analyzing the organizational and ethical dimensions of the project.

The formal part of the conference ended with a discussion led by project coordinator Edoardo Mollona, followed by an opportunity to visit the University’s Mathematical Tower.
– We hope that the participants enjoyed the seminars, which were an opportunity to learn more about the results of the work packages. However, our greatest hope is that the time spent in Wrocław and at our university will be remembered, and that many colleagues will find time to return here – concluded prof. Adam Mrozowicki.
Along with the University of Wrocław, the research consortium includes universities from Italy, Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, Germany, Estonia and Switzerland.
