Report on the open day of the UWr Doctoral School
On 7 November 2023, an open day of the University of Wrocław Doctoral School took place in the main building of the University Library at ul. Joliot-Curie. The meeting was mainly aimed at doctoral students in the first two years of training. The event was opened by the Vice-Rector for research, prof. dr hab. Artur Błażejewski. This was followed by speeches from the Rector’s representative for the Doctoral School, the head of the Science Department, a representative of the Secretariat of the Doctoral School, the director of the University of Wrocław Publishing House and the director of the Technology Transfer Centre.
The organisers aimed to present to those interested the opportunities for development offered by the University of Wrocław, both professionally (choice of career path, cooperation with commercial companies) and academically (participation in research projects, publication of the results of their work). Doctoral students were introduced to the structure of the Doctoral School and the units within the university that will help them solve current problems in the future. Representatives of the Doctoral Student Self-Goverment also spoke, encouraging active participation in this important doctoral organisation.
