Dr Agnieszka Janik from UWr with the Prof. Ryszard Więckowski Award
Dr Agnieszka Janik from the University of Wrocław was awarded the Prof. Ryszard Więckowski Award. Her work entitled „Podwórkowe przestrzenie i miejsca zabaw. Studium pedagogiczno-kulturowe”.
The Professor Ryszard Więckowski Award for an outstanding scientific work in social sciences in the discipline of pedagogy is a distinction of national rank. It is awarded to researchers who, through their scientific activity, contribute to the development of discussions of an interdisciplinary nature around early childhood education pedagogy. The award was established in 2022 at the Faculty of Educational Sciences of the University of Łódź, where the Łódź School of Early Education was established over 30 years ago.
In the second edition of the competition, the Prof. Ryszard Więckowski Award was given to dr Agnieszka Janik from the Institute of Pedagogy, University of Wrocław, for her work entitled „Podwórkowe przestrzenie i miejsca zabaw. Studium pedagogiczno-kulturowe”. On the one hand, the subject matter addressed in the thesis refers to changes in the perception of the child and play by modern societies, while on the other hand, it requires the recognition of methodological solutions used in socio-cultural research on the child and childhood.
The proposed research approach was grounded in the multi-paradigmatic reality of humanist-oriented social sciences, which combines ethnographic and critical perspectives and thus enables us to think about the studied fragment of children’s everyday life and the cultural practices of shaping it from different perspectives. The aim of the research was to give a voice to children in a debate addressing themes directly related to them.
Congratulations!
