Women’s Day

The Lower Silesian Regional Branch of the Polish Red Cross in Wrocław, is the initiator and main organiser of the multi-faceted project „DzienDlaKobiet z PCK „Być Kobietą” on the occasion of International Women’s Day.

The main and most important objective is prevention, promotion and education on important aspects of women’s health, raising awareness of the need for regular check-ups and early detection of potential health problems. The project also touches on aspects of development, support and support for women’s health. We invite all interested women to participate in research, lectures, talks and other activities at events that will help build health awareness, relationships, community, care and support in taking care of their own health and well-being.

Join our project to meet inspiring women, learn new skills and create a space of support and development together. Be part of this unique initiative that promotes strength, empathy and mutual support among women!

The events will take place on 8-9 and 16 March in Wrocław and are divided into 3 zones.

HEALTH ZONE „BIAŁE MIASTECZKO”

8/9.03.2024, 12:00-18:00

The organisation of the “Białe Miasteczko” focuses primarily on the opportunity to benefit from free comprehensive examinations relevant to women’s health. In the parking area next to the Residence at ul. Dyrekcyjna, diagnostic vans and collection points will be set up:

Cytobus, Osteobus, KrwioBus, blood pressure tests with consultation, sugar tests with consultation, breast self-examination – education on phantoms, podological tests, trichological tests, education and qualification and registration for mammograms as part of the Breast Cancer Prevention Programme, educational point on first aid.

WORKSHOP AND LECTURE ZONE:

We would like to invite all women to exceptional lectures and talks given by lecturers from the Institute of Psychology, University of Wrocław, which will extensively touch on important topics concerning the problems of contemporary women, health issues, support, development and mutual motivation on the road to self-fulfilment.

  • 17.00 – 18.30 dr Katarzyna Serafińska – lecture: „Współczesna kobieta w bliskim związku. Realia, wyzwania i perspektywy”.
  • 18.45 – 20.15 mgr Anna Cieślik – lecture: „Kobiecość w męskim świecie biznesu. Jak mądrze wykorzystać emocje, wrażliwość i troskę do budowania organizacji odpornych na wstrząsy?”

09.03.2024 (Saturday)

  • 10.00 – 11.30 dr Bogna Bartosz – lecture: „Skąd czerpać psychiczną siłę? Z perspektywy psychologii pozytywnej”.
  • 11.45 – 13.15 dr Dorota Chmielewska-Łuczak – lecture: „Życie seksualne matek”.
  • 13.30 – 15.00 dr Małgorzata Włodarczyk – lecture: „Psychologiczne aspekty okresu okołomenopauzalnego”

SPORT ZONE: Bieg O!Zdrowie Kobiet

16.03.2024, 10:00 – 15:00

Join us to celebrate movement and health in a friendly atmosphere where every step counts, not time pressure. Let’s enjoy the activity of movement, regardless of ability, pace or age.
