DigiLab in Open Government Data

DigiLab and its development potential can be used to support digitisation processes in institutions from the socio-economic environment of the University of Wrocław.

And this is what we are counting on – emphasises Tomasz Kalota, the Rector’s representative for the Regional GLAM – https://uwr.edu.pl/otwarte-zasoby/regionalny-glam/. He coordinates the development and implementation of technological, logistical and organisational solutions to expand cooperation between the institutions belonging to the Regional GLAM. GLAMs (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) are public and private institutions that collect cultural goods. Each such institution fulfils specific, interrelated roles concerning the collection, development, preservation and sharing with the public of the parts of cultural heritage in its care.

The DigiLab application, which is the result of a workflow project to develop digital publications at the university – https://uwr.edu.pl/en/we-are-changing/workflow-to-develop-digital-publications-at-universities/ has just been added to the government’sDane.gov.plhttps://dane.gov.pl/pl/showcase/1298,digilab-agregator-dorobku-naukowego.

DigiLab is a digital service designed to initiate, control and monitor digitisation processes. It was designed by employees of the University Library in Wrocław in the project “Workflow for the development of digital publications at the university” co-financed by the European Union from the European Regional Development Fund and implemented by the University of Wrocław within the framework of the Operational Programme Digital Poland 2014-2020, Priority Axis No. 2 “E-government and open government”, Measure No. 2.4 “Creation of services and applications using e-services of the public and public sector information”.

One of the project’s indicators was the preparation of an application to handle the open data made available in the https://dane.gov.pl/.

On 1 March 2024, the DigiLab system was added to the Open Data service – https://dane.gov.pl/pl/showcase/1298,digilab-agregator-dorobku-naukowego as a tool to support the use of public data.

This is good news because with this stage we are completing work on the “Workflow for the development of digital publications at the university” project and we are starting a new chapter in the more than twenty years of history connected with the creation of standards for the digitisation of cultural heritage objects at the University Library in Wrocław – https://www.bu.uni.wroc.pl/ adds Tomasz Kalota
