Children at university? It is possible at the Children’s University!

Children’s University is the oldest children’s university in Poland, operating since 2007, currently in three cities: in Wrocław, Kraków and Warsaw. In the academic year 2024/2025, children aged 6-14 are invited to attend the universities, which will feature workshops, seminars and lectures led by scientists and specialists.

In the 2024/2025 academic year, lecturers associated with the University of Wrocław will also teach:

  • dr hab. Magda Dubińska-Magiera, dr Marta Migocka-Patrzałek – Jak rybka Danio pomaga naukowcom?
  • dr Paweł Preś – Jak wygląda zaćmienie Słońca?

All activities are conducted using the proprietary Question and Experience Method, which allows the youngest children, under the supervision of scientists, to play the role of researchers, carry out experiments and seek answers to their questions.

Children aged 6-12 attend two lectures and sixteen workshops during the academic year, while Master and students, or children aged 12-14, attend four lectures and two seminar series.

The Children’s University for 2023 received the prestigious Science Populariser 2023 award , awarded by the Science in Poland service, published by the Polish Press Agency:

’They are among those who started the boom in science popularisation. They work with the most difficult audience: children, providing them with a lively contact with science. Thousands of children have already benefited from their projects. They have also prepared more than 500 lesson plans that can be used by teachers free of charge,’ was the reason for their selection by the competition jury.

Recruitment for classes is ongoing. More information on the Foundation’s website: https://uniwersytetdzieci.pl/
