Language city game for the European Day of Languages in Wrocław 2024

The European Day of Languages is traditionally celebrated across Europe on 26 September. It is dedicated to the idea of a multilingual and multicultural Europe. A Europe in which there is room for all the languages of the world.

On this day, we invite the inhabitants of Wrocław and Lower Silesia to take part in a linguistic city game. We will be getting to know different cultures, learning useful phrases in many languages and covering spaces around the Wrocław Market Square on foot. Teams of 2 to 5 people are invited to take part in the game.

Organisers: European Parliament Information Office in Poland and the Regional Representation of the European Commission in Wrocław.

Partners: Alliance Francaise, Austrian Institute, University of Wrocław, Ukraine Foundation, Spanish Bookshop, Księgarnia hiszpańska.

We would like to invite you to take part in a language city game, which will take place on 26 September, from 10.00 to 13.30, in the vicinity of Wrocław’s Market Square.

Forty teams, each of 2-5 people, are invited to play. There are no restrictions. Pupils, students, families, groups of friends are welcome.

There will be prizes for the winners – with a total value of PLN 4,500.00, and commemorative gifts for all participants.

Registration via the polyglot-language.co.uk website opens on 9 September.

Is it necessary to know multiple languages? Not really! Above all, you need to be curious, attentive, open-minded and ready to learn a few useful phrases in foreign languages in a short space of time while having fun together.

Detailed rules and regulations and registration for the game are available on the game’s website.

Participation in the game implies acceptance of the rules.
