Inauguration of the academic year of the University of the Third Age
The 2024/2025 academic year also began with the UWr University of the Third Age students.
In the presence of the Vice-Rector for student affairs of the University of Wrocław, dr Łukasz Prus, representatives of the authorities of the City of Wrocław, senior organisations, friendly institutions, the banner of the University of Wrocław were introduced for the first time in the history of the University of the Third Age at the opening ceremony of the new academic year. In the banner’s guards – students of the University of the Third Age. In this way, 25 years of seniors’ presence in the structures of the University of Wrocław were highlighted.
For the first time, first-year students took a solemn oath to join the University of the Third Age academic community at the University of Wrocław.
A new Academic Council of the University of the Third Age for 2024-2028 was also appointed.
In November 2024, the Federation of Universities of the Third Age, based in Wrocław, will celebrate its 10th anniversary. Celebrations related to this will be held at the University of the Third Age at ul. Dawida in Wrocław.
Dr Magdalena Wnuk-Olenicz, head of the University of the Third Age, wished the students interesting activities and satisfaction from participating in the activities of the University of the Third Age. The UWr Vice-Rector, dr Łukasz Prus, wished all those gathered joy in acquiring new knowledge, realising their dreams and developing their passions.
