Institute of Administrative Sciences of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics invites you to participate in the 6th Nationwide Academic Conference Gazy zdekarbonizowane. Prawo zdywersyfikowanego łańcucha dostaw (eng. Decarbonized Gases. The Law of Diversified Supply Chain), which is to take place on November 19, 2024 at 9 a.m., online (via Teams).
For the sixth time, we have the pleasure of organizing an interdisciplinary debate on the issues of broadly understood climate-energy transformation. This year, the debate will revolve around the so-called decarbonized gases and their future role in a diversified gas system. The EU gas market reform set out the rules for the introduction of renewable gaseous fuels into the grids, until now used for transmission and distribution of natural gas. Hydrogen and biomethane can significantly speed up the process of the European Union reaching climate neutrality as well as strengthen energy independence. New supply chains, diversified with respect to supply sources and routes, will not only change energy system operation but also provide an important impetus for economy. Green transformation, based on electrification and decarbonization, engages many stakeholders, scientists, entrepreneurs, public administration, and independent expert organizations. Innovative projects in the area of the so-called diversified gases will be developed simultaneously in macro- (trans-European grids of renewable gases, gas hubs, green ecosystems) and microscale (direct gas lines, energy clusters, hydrogen valleys). While approaching the halfway mark of reaching climate neutrality, it is necessary to evaluate the adopted course and to intensify efforts to reach climate-energy goals. Priorities of the new term of office of the European Commission and the Polish government will also provide a significant background to the discussion. The Polish economy is facing key challenges, including regulative ones. For that reason, the debate on the development of the so-called decarbonized gases requires the participation of legal science representatives.
The conference is organized every year using an interdisciplinary formula, with the participation of scientists, representatives of public administration, and industry experts. This allows us to jointly search for the best solutions combining knowledge with good business practices.
Key issues of this year’s conference:
- decarbonized gases – expansion of the internal energy market under the Hydrogen and Decarbonized Gas Market Package;
- climate neutrality – ways of reducing emission with renewable energy sources and renewable gases;
- strategic gas projects – renewable gases development on a regional and European level;
- energy solidarity and safety – revision of values in the new green system.
