It has been known since ancient times that sports and art are very close to each other. Speakers at the conference Sport w sztuce – sztuka sportu (“Sport in Art – Art of Sport”) to be held on November 26 and 27 in Olomouc, will explore this very interesting topic. The event is organised by the University of Wrocław and Palacký University in Olomouc and is under the patronage of the Rectors of both universities.
The conference program covers a variety of topics that show how deeply sports and art are intertwined. You can expect lectures on sport sensu largo in literature, linguistics, theater, aesthetics, painting, or iconography in various national cultures throughout the ages. There will also be speeches about the art of motivation, the women’s current, or the artistic performances of athletes, as well as a queer perspective on the issue.
The conference will be held at the Department of Bohemistry at the Faculty of Philosophy of Palacký University in Olomouc, in the back wing of the building at ul. Křížkovského 10, room 1.25.
