National Academic Conference XXXVI Teachers’ Forum 2024
On 25-26 November, the XXXVI National Academic Conference of the Teachers’ Forum, organised by the Institute of Pedagogy of the University of Wrocław, will be held. This year’s edition brings together representatives of many disciplines around the theme “Pedagogika i edukacja w antropocenie.”
Important information:
- The theme of the conference is the problems of climate, ecology, imagination and the tasks facing pedagogy and education in this connection. We are glad that you are with us. We hope that this co-thinking will be embodied in collective and individual social practices. We are committed to reducing negative environmental impacts wherever possible. Therefore, some of the information materials, such as the conference programme, will be available not in hard copy, but electronically (via QR code)
- We are aware that global meat production generates more CO2 than car, air, rail and water transportation combined. Therefore, we offer you conference meals exclusively in the vegetarian version.
- An information booth on the activities of the Oder Tribe will be available during the conference proceedings , along with a collection of signatures in support of the legislative initiative committee of the Oder River Revitalization Act. These activities will be accompanied by an exhibition of works by Justyna Kulikowska – an attempt to listen to the voice of the Oder River: powerful, beautiful, inhabited by many creatures, and yet suffering so much from civilization’s pollution. During your visit to Wrocław, we encourage you to visit the corresponding exhibition, “Świątynia Baśni” at the BWA gallery in Wrocław’s Central Station (ul. Piłsudzki 105) and practice (post)anthropocentric imagination. Read more: https://bwa.wroc.pl/wydarzenie/swiatynia-basni/
In view of the scale of irreparable losses that the issues of the XXXVI Teachers’ Forum reminds us of, all this seems to be only a small gesture of goodwill. Nonetheless, we are of the opinion that it will do well to pay attention to the challenges we face together.
We further remind you:
A rich program of conference proceedings awaits us. We tried to take into account the suggestions and wishes signaled earlier by you. At this stage, we do not anticipate any more castling in the programme. We count on your understanding.
Speaking time in plenary sessions is 20 minutes.
Speaking time in parallel sections is 15 minutes.
We will provide you with detailed information on the possibility of publishing post-conference articles (in English only) via email after the conference.
